Pretty in Pink? Not when it’s in the eye from redness and swelling. That’s called conjunctivitis, or pinkeye.
Pinkeye looks alarming, but it’s just a cold in your eye transmitted by coughing, sneezing, or hand-eye contact.
Pinkeye will usually run its course in three to five days. But this DIY hack typically clears it up within 24 hours, so I wanted to share.
DIY For Pinkeye
- Soak a Chamomile tea bag in lukewarm water.
- Place soaked tea bag on the infected eye for a few minutes.
Tip: For toddlers who just won’t sit still, apply with a cotton ball every 10-15 minutes.
Chamomile has strong anti-inflammatory and pain-reducing properties. It can help reduce the swelling and inflammation of Pinkeye.
Also, Chamomile is known to be soothing and can help a child fall asleep. That’s why I put it in my all natural and organic nighttime cough syrups for children. What better way to help them when they are sick?
I hope this at home DIY cure for Pinkeye helps your child as much as it has helped my family! Be sure to visit your pediatrician if symptoms do not improve.
Peace and be well,
