A Healing That Came Out Of Nowhere

Episode #14: A Healing That Came Out Of Nowhere

This episode is a true story that happened 20+ years ago. It illustrates how healing can come about from situations you never thought about. It also demonstrates that if you change your perspective sometimes, you may find miracles where you least expect them.

In case you would rather read my post …

Why Am I Telling You This And Why It Is Important

Because I’ve come across so many people who are diagnosed with serious health conditions, let’s say cancer, RA, or some other chronic condition. So they are naturally searching for an answer to help them heal.

But the information out there is confusing. Your doctors tell you one thing, your friends tell you something else, and then the information on the internet is crazy, it is all over the board. Oftentimes, probably more times than not, it is so hard to figure out what to do.

Trust me, I’ve been there before. You want to get better so bad that you try so many things, and still don’t get the results you want. Sure you may get little successes, but you don’t get fully better.

Then you get so frustrated that you start feeling like throwing in the towel and giving up.

In my healing sessions, I often get people saying things like, it won’t work for me, I am too far gone – with their condition.

Well, with healing, it is not always about doing things to “fix” you. Sometimes you need to take a step back and look at things from a wider angle, a larger perspective. Maybe you need to focus on something else besides the “fix”. And that is what this story is all about. It demonstrates how healing can come from places you would never have thought about.

This is an actual, true story that happened about 20 years ago. It made such an impression on me and changed my perspective on healing, that I thought I would share it with you in hopes that it will help someone else too.

Here Is How It Went 20 Years Ago

I used to watch ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings. And one evening he reported about a man in Canada who went to his doctor and was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

The doctor tells this gentleman that he better get his affairs in order because, with his type of pancreatic cancer, he only has a few months to live.

Mind you, this was back sometime between 2000 – 2005 when pancreatic cancer was much more deadly than it is today.

So the gentleman, thinking he only has a few months to live, cashes in all his investments, sells all his assets like his house and car, and travels to the French Riviera to enjoy his last months of life.

Fast Forward 1 Year

So this gentleman goes back to his doctor for a checkup. After the exam, the doctor comes in and says to the gentleman, you don’t have pancreatic cancer, you have pancreatitis, which is just inflammation of the pancreas. He also told him that he was going to live.

So this guy, who is now flat broke with no money to his name, has no house, no car, and nowhere to go. And he is going to live!

So at this point in the report, I am wondering why such a simple story is on the “World News Tonight”. It seemed like such a local story and wasn’t very newsworthy.

But then Peter Jennings said that the guy who was flat broke, and for the most part healthy, wanted to sue his doctor for a misdiagnosis. Because of the diagnosis, he did what he did and is now broke.

So the reason it was on the show was because they asked rhetorically if a patient could sue his doctor for any repercussions caused by a misdiagnosis.

At that moment, I thought to myself, interesting. What a missed opportunity – they missed the point of the whole story.

It’s not about whether you can sue your doctor for a misdiagnosis, it is about being diagnosed with a serious health disease, and after the guy changed his lifestyle, and started enjoying his life, living life to the fullest as they say, he cured himself of the disease.

So why is this story so significant?

Because so many times I run into people who were diagnosed with a serious condition and are looking for the magic bullet, whether it is medicine or a natural alternative. They are looking for a treatment that will cure them, but their lives are a mess. The story is a demonstration of how he changed his lifestyle, and it made a dramatic difference.

I realize that his changes were dramatic, but I think it is still helpful for all of us. If you take a look at your life and make lifestyle changes that will make you happy and live a well-balanced lifestyle of fun, work, and purpose, then any treatment you do might work that much better.

Here’s Another Story That Happened

I am in a Best Buy store waiting in line and a woman in front of me begins to tell me about her husband who was just diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer.

After talking to her a bit and telling her how sorry I was, I tried to say something positive and said there is so much people can do that have cancer now.

There are so many treatments that are promising.

She said she was going to start him on a turmeric supplement because she heard it helps with cancer.

But then she went on to tell me how her husband was a surgeon, he worked all hours, never took a vacation, ate terribly because he was so busy, and never exercised or did any physical activity.

I remember thinking to myself, of course I would never say this to her, “Oh boy, you think turmeric is going to do something for him? No way, he has to change his lifestyle and bring it into balance much more, then maybe, if it is not too late, which it probably was, he would be able to do some treatment, or take a remedy to help with his situation.

Do You Get My Point?

Holistic healing is about bringing your whole life into balance, with nutrition, lifestyle, and emotions, ie. mind, body spirit.

There is more to healing than just the next procedure or supplement/medication.

And that is the moral of these stories …. Quit looking for the magic pill and start living life to the fullest. You may see better results that way.

So now, let me ask you. How is your life? Do you feel yours is in balance?

Do you live life to the fullest?

Do you find your life interesting?

Do you feel your life is balanced, with as much fun, work, and purpose?

If you like to dance, do you dance now?

If you like to go out in nature, do you go outside enough?

Are you laughing enough?

If you like being with people, are you inviting people to do things with you?

Do you get my point?

It’s interesting – When I do energy healings for people, I always ask at the end of a healing session, if there is anything this person can do for themselves to speed up healing.

And do you know what I get?

More times than not, I get things like, go visit your family, visit your homeland, dance more, have more fun, let your true personality shine.

These are the things that come up that will speed healing. I never get, you need another medication or another supplement.

If you are living life unbalanced, maybe working too hard without having fun, or some downtime, then maybe this is a warning to work towards it.

If you have to, make small changes at first, and work towards having a life worth living!

I’ve heard people say they don’t even know how to have fun anymore or don’t know what it would be that would feed their souls.

And I tell them sure they do. Just think of the last time you were truly happy. Even if it was a long time ago when you were young. What were you doing then that made you so happy, and maybe you do things like that now.

If you were on a baseball team, go to a game or join a softball team. If you were a dancer, then dance around the house more with loud music on.

When you go back and think of things you did when you were happy, it will give you ideas of things that will make you happy now.

And that is where you can start. And please make changes to feed your soul. It makes a huge difference in your life and a huge difference in your healing efforts.

And with that, I leave you until next time. Enjoy life, it is definitely worth living!

Bye bye
